"This illness has given me so much. I have never felt as alive as I do now in the five years since it began."
I had the pleasure of welcoming Laetitia Morlat, founder of the Quiet Luxury Group, a family-owned group rooted in the heart of the Périgord Vert that today brings together exceptional hospitality and jewellery houses.
Since childhood, Laetitia has described herself as a « nightingale »: free-spirited and intuitive, finding her own path away from well-trodden routes. That intuition led her to found the Quiet Luxury Group with one ambition: to preserve the finest craftsmanship and exceptional places. Her commitment, notably to the Périgord Vever, was recognised with the Medal of Merit for Tourism.
But behind her success, Laetitia also speaks of a more personal battle: her fight against illness. She turned this ordeal into a source of strength, much like the Japanese art of kintsugi: repairing with gold rather than concealing the crack. She shares with moving candour: « This illness brought me to where I needed to be: within myself. »
She also reflects on the family character of her group, her love for the Périgord Vert and her passion for French craftsmanship, which led her to establish a foundation dedicated to preserving artistic crafts.
An episode of rare honesty, full of light and deeply inspiring.
